Finally I have finished my zine for my Met trip. I used a lot of blending modes, not sure if that's repetitive or stylistic. I love the Met, it is one of my fav museums because you are really left on your own to explore but you're never truly alone. Its too big to see it all so you really should make a plan first. The privilege of being a train ride away means I can come and go for an hour and just look at my fav rococo rooms. That's my top spot, I can't help it. This time I did a lot of exploring in the Chinese and Korean galleries which was very fun. Learned about the wedding goose tradition which is beautiful and adorable.
Anyways here is my extra long zine!
This is my longest zine yet! And still I couldn't include everything. Here are two Rembrants I saw, Man with a Magnifying Glass and Woman with a Pink. A "pink" is the name for a carnation. Holding a pink carnation (sometimes red) is a Flemish trope symbolizing newly weds. This spreads to all Dutch portraiture at this time.
I have Woman with a Pink on my door back at school. i absolutely love the glow of the flower and I find her clothing so incredibly detailed and beautiful. Man with a Magnifying Glass was placed next to her. I am not sure if they went together, I didn't read about it because I got distracted in my celebrity awe. I love this painting, the details are incredible!!
That's my little trip summery, hope you like my Zine!
Bye!! πΌ
