Hello ✿

Welcome to my online journal! I post about basically whatever I want and I get away with it too! Come hang out!

Stamp collecting like dada never died ๐Ÿ–ƒ๐Ÿ–ƒ๐Ÿ–ƒ

I finally made another zine, based off of postage stamps of course! I am so happy with these results, I found a ton of incredible stamps in the Wikimedia Commons. This is the greatest site for people who love looking at things. It loads fast, has everything, and has tons of sources from all over the world!

After applying for a job at the Library of Congress, I was doing some big looking today. I thought I should actually have some experience on their site and MAN! It is so slow. I wanted to look at pics of the AIDS quilt and it just was too damn slow! So my warning to you, fellow database perusers, boot up your supercomputer or just get your ass back to Wikimedia Commons and Artstor. For shame, the Library of Congress should hire me to do something about it!

Anyways, in my preamble, I would like to give you some observations about searching 'postage stamp' on Wikimedia Commons. There are so many Russian stamps, that most of the featured stamps I chose were Russian or Ukrainian. They even had some Belarusian stamps, my great motherland. Also, a substantial amount (maybe like 3%) of these Russian stamps were mushrooms, specifically. Weird.

    Ok. Preamble over. Stamp time.

That is it for my fantastic zine, my masterpiece of Zinetopia! I really loved making this, I am always heavy on the blend modes but they're just so fun! I started playing with the stamp brush, especially seen on the sturgeon stamp page. If you want to try making your own, I used the Electronic Zine Maker. It's very simple and a lot of fun.
Okay, I gotta go work on something else, I can't keep just rambling into the internet void all night on my one free night. I have to go to bed soon! Driving school tmr!!! Lesson 3/10, do you think I'll finally master something, like not stopping super early or maybe even turning left? So exciting....
    See you guys soon!
